Marlene Grooms
Marlene Grooms comes to NCS from Lutsel’ke (Snowdrift) which is within the Akaitcho Region. She previously worked for NCS TV back in 1994. More recently she returned to the station – called ‘The Happy Place’ by some Elders, in 2006 as the Denesuliné Announcer.
Marlene has a strong knowledge of her Dene culture and is proud to be speaking her Chipewyan language everyday. You can hear her Denesuliné Program daily Monday- Friday from 1-3pm. Tune in for great Elder’s stories and find out what’s happening in the Akaitcho region. Oh, and don’t forget the amazing music – Marlene has a style all her own!
