Joachim Bonnetrouge
Joachim P. Bonnetrouge is the Native Communications Society Board Chairperson. Joachim currently works in Fort Providence as Coordinator of the Fort Providence Residential School Society – Healing Project.
Before becoming coordinator he spent time as the regional director for the Deh Cho Language Program and for 11 years was Chief of the Fort Providence Dene Council.
Joachim is well-known in the NWT for his ability to sing and drum traditional Dene songs. He enjoys speaking his language, studying Dene Traditions and Culture, and spending time on the land.
His contribution as Chair of the Native Communications Society reaches back several years and his dedication and leadership is one of the reasons NCS has experienced significant successes over the past four years.
